Students will learn about art history and art application as they travel through time from ancient to modern art with an emphasis on international art. Student will study ancient art and its effects, inspirations, and influences throughout the evolution and expansion of art. We will eventually make our way to California and the local region where we’ll explore POC artists, who are inspired by their culture and heritage. Every lesson will have an art project that will be inspired by the studied artists. The students will use their creativity as well as an array of 2D media tools (paint, pencils, ink, etc.). This course falls under the Communication, Critical Thinking, and Personal and Social Responsibility Institutional Level Outcomes (ILOs). 
 

Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion students will:
  • Learn the evolution of international art
  • Understand the basics of using 2D art media tools (paint, pencils, ink, etc.)
